Jellystone
Family camping at Jellystone is what family camping is all about. This is as family friendly as you can get. This campground was jammed packed with so many fun options for the whole family to explore. This particular campground was located in Madison, Florida, jellystonefla.com.
Play in the Water
Hands down my boys enjoyed the inflatable obstacle course in the pond the best. They opened and closed this water play area. I will be honest and say I was nervous about letting them go in, but my fears were quickly diminished. Life vests were required on everyone entering the pond, and staff patrolled the area very well. My older son kept a close eye on his younger brother and I watched from the shore. It can get crowded and life vests can be hard to acquire during busy times.
The mini waterpark was another fun option. It had an amazing water slide that the boys enjoyed, my husband included. There is also a lazy river and an area for younger children to play as well.
The pool area was a bit worn and showing its age, but still a fun area to play while waiting for the waterpark to open.
Other Activities
The boys did take a break from all the water and played other things. There was an air pillow to jump on close to our campsite. They really enjoyed that. A giant tether ball game was available and miniature golf. Just simple family friendly games.
My absolute favorite activity, which I of course have no pictures of, was the Candy Bar Bingo. Oh my goodness this was so much fun. What you do is buy a candy bar for every bingo card you want to play. The winners of the bingo game win candy bars. We lost, but the kid that won over 40 candy bars on the last game was hilarious.
If you ever get a chance to stay at this Jellystone, I readily recommend it. But there were a few downsides. It was crowded. It was a popular destination over a Father’s Day weekend and the park was packed with families. The campsites are close together and it was hard to tell where our site ended and our neighbors began. I felt like I was intruding on other people’s space.
Overall, a great park to go with your family. Enjoy.
Happy Camping!
UPDATE
This park has changed names. It is now Ragans Family Campground.
