Simple to Make Camping Christmas Snack Mix

When you need a quick and easy snack for those holiday camping adventures, try this simple to make, Camping Christmas Snack Mix. This recipe has a camping-inspired twist on an old favorite recipe, that everyone will love.

Camping Christmas Snack Mix

• 3 Cups Graham Cereal
• 3 Cups Rice Chex Cereal
• 1 Cup M & M’s
• 2 Cups Pretzel Rounds
• 6 Blocks of Vanilla Almond Bark
• 1/3 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips
• 1/3 Cup Mini Dehydrated Marshmallows

In a large bowl mix together the graham cereal, rice cereal, M&M’s, and pretzels. Place the vanilla almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl and heat at 30-second intervals, stirring each time until melted. Pour the melted vanilla almond bark over the snack mix, and stir until coated. Add the mini marshmallows and mini chocolate chips and stir. Pour the mix onto wax paper and allow to cool and dry. Place into an airtight container or divide into cellophane gift bags.

Ingredients

I used my favorite graham cereal and Rice Chex cereal as the base for this mix. The pretzel rounds were a fun shape that added to the Camping Christmas Snack. And of course, the M&M’s to add sweetness. The mini marshmallows and mini chocolate were added at the end to elevate the s’more twist on the mix. Make the mix your own by adding or subtracting your favorite combinations. This is a very versatile recipe and can be easily doubled.

Directions

This is a quick and simple recipe. Just pour, melt, mix, and let dry. It could be made in the camper or days beforehand.

Pour

Pour the cereal, pretzels, and M&M’s into a large bowl.

Melt

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt approximately 6 blocks of vanilla almond bark. Be sure to heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted.

Mix

Mix the melted almond bark and cereal mixture to make the Camping Christmas Snack mix.

Be sure to add the mini chocolate chips and mini marshmallows towards the end. You don’t want the chocolate chips or marshmallows to melt, just stick to the cereal mixture.

Dry

Allow the mixture to cool and dry on a sheet of wax paper.

When cooled and dry break apart if needed and store in an air-tight container or divide into holiday cellophane treat bags.
