S’more Camp Bars are made with only 5 ingredients. I used our favorite graham cereal, which was actually BOGO at Publix that week, both white and chocolate chips, butter and of course the marshmallows. You need to set aside a cup of the mini marshmallows, 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of chocolate chips. This will be the topping.

Dutch Oven

The only thing you will be using the Dutch Oven for is to melt the marshmallows. You could theoretically cheat and melt them in the camper microwave, but what is the fun in that. Instead prepare 7 briquettes to place under the Dutch Oven. We have found that using a chimney is the easiest way to do this. Be sure to use a foil Dutch Oven liner. Spray the liner with cooking spray or grease with butter to keep the marshmallows from sticking to the bottom. The liner is going to be your serving pan.

I am using a 10 inch Dutch Oven. If you are using a different size, make sure to get the correct Dutch Oven liner size and depending on the size of your Dutch Oven. You may also need to add or subtract the number of briquettes.

When the briquettes are ready, using long handled tongs place 7 briquettes in a circle in your fire pit, or wherever you are cooking. Place the Dutch Oven with the marshmallows and butter over the briquettes without the lid.

It will take a few minutes for things to start melting, but it will and quickly. Stir constantly, you do not want to scorch the marshmallows.

Melting Marshmallows in a Dutch Oven

Remove the Dutch Oven from the heat when the marshmallow are melted. Carefully remove the liner from the Dutch Oven and place on the picnic table or whatever table you are using. It’s easier to have someone help you in the next step. Someone to pour slowly and someone to stir quickly.
