Camping Close to Savannah at Creekfire RV Resort

The perfect Spring Break camping spot near Savannah is CreekFire RV Resort. We spent three nights here and truly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. It was the best way to relax and recharge after exploring historic Savannah.

We chose site #4 at CreekFire RV Resort. It was close to the pool and many of the other amenities. This was a huge, back-in site. A picnic table and fire pit were provided. All sites are full hookups; water, electric, and sewer. Our site was gravel, but many sites do have concrete pads. Be sure to take a few moments to research the perfect camping spot for you and your family. Golf cart rentals are available to help get around the campground or bring your own.

Take the time to sit and relax around a cozy fire after a hard day of exploring Savannah or hanging out at the pool. Firewood is available for sale at the general store.

Amenities

The main attraction for my family at least was the heated pool. My son loved hanging out there and the hot tub. The lazy river was also a great feature, but a little chilly for my kid this trip. It would be perfect for those hot Georgia days in the summer though.

A little bar and grill is located next to the pool so you can grab a drink and relax around the pool. There is plenty of seating and umbrellas for shade.

The little ones have their pool area and a splash pad next to the pool.

Choose from a variety of activities to keep your family as busy as they want to be. Basketball, sand volleyball, pickleball, and a kids’ playground are just a few of the amenities. My son just wanted to beat me in a game of chess. And of course, he did.

Be sure to check out the hiking trail around the beautiful lake if you get the chance.

The Lakehouse Restaurant is located on the lake and has pretty views. We didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant, but we did hear it was a good place to eat and hang out.

Savannah

We visited Savannah the week of St. Patrick’s Day and did not realize how big of an event it was to this historic city. All the water in the fountains were dyed green. It was such an amazing sight to see.

Be sure to have your walking shoes on. This is a walking city with plenty of shops and historic spots to view. Take your time to observe the architecture of the buildings and the beauty of the many parks and squares. If it’s your first time in Savannah stop in at the Savannah Information Center. The ladies here were so helpful to us in planning our walking tour.

If you do go into Savannah please note that available parking can be hard to find. There are parking garages in the downtown area, and metered parking along the streets, but finding a spot can be a challenge. CreekFire is a stop for the Old Town Tolley if you would like to avoid the hassle of parking. The trolley will pick you up at 9 in the morning and drop you off at 5 PM. Reservations are required and fees do apply. Check at the Welcome Center at the campground for more information or to make a reservation.

CreekFire RV Resort

CreekFire RV Resort was a fantastic campground for us to spend our Spring Break. What I loved about it was the friendly atmosphere. We felt welcomed by the staff and they were very helpful with my endless questions. The guests were just as friendly, especially our camping neighbors.

This is the campground for everyone. It catered to all age groups from the very young to older adults. It offered something for everyone. My teenage boy had a blast and was not bored. This is high praise from a teenager’s point of view. This is a laid-back campground where you can just relax and unwind and spend quality time with your family. You will have a fantastic time staying as much as we did. To make a reservation or for more information click here. Happy Camping!

All opinions are my own. I am in no way associated with CreekFire RV Resort or the Cove Resort brand.
