The Easiest Way to Make a Camping Bucket Light
I was recently notified that the company I recommend on Etsy for buying camping bucket lights was no longer selling them. I featured them on my post Camping Bucket Light. It’s sad to hear, I really love my bucket light. But don’t worry, I found the Easiest Way to Make a Camping Bucket Light that you can do on your own.
Supplies
The supplies you will need are easy to find and to install. You only need three things, four if are counting the AAA batteries.
- White Plastic 5 Gallon Bucket
- Waterproof Light (may need batteries)
- Decal
The bucket can be found at Lowes or here.
The best light to use for the camping bucket can be found here. I love this type of light because it is waterproof and comes with a remote. With the remote you can change the light to different colors and different light effects. The ones I bought came in a three pack, leaving extras to put in pumpkins for Halloween.
The final thing you need is a decal. I had one custom made from a company on Etsy, Duchi Designs. They were easy to work with and shipping was fast. There are also a lot of decals in the camping genre on Etsy as well. If you have a Cricut check out On the Beach SVG also on Etsy for decals you can make on your own.
My decal is 9 X 9, so keep it in that range to fit on your bucket correctly. Also make sure the decal is done in black. That way it will show up with all the contrasting lights in the bucket.
Easy Camping Bucket Light
The directions to assemble your own camping are so simple. All you need to do is put the decal on the bucket. Make sure to follow the directions for adhering the decal. Next put batteries in the light, turn it on and put it in the bucket. Finally put the lid on the bucket and use your remote to switch to different light modes. It’s that easy!
