6 Must Have Dutch Oven Accessories

Since we starting using our Dutch oven we have found 6 must have Dutch oven accessories. These accessories make baking with a Dutch oven more convenient and safer. We currently have a Lodge 10″ Dutch Oven and have used it on all of our campouts.

Dutch Oven Tote Bag

I love this carrier. We had been keeping our Dutch oven in its original box until it fell apart. This tote bag allows us to carry the Dutch oven with ease and store it without worry. It is well padded to protect the Dutch oven. You can find this tote here.

A reviewer on Amazon recommended purchasing a 10″ pizza pan to set in the bottom of the tote to keep the feet of the Dutch oven from wearing holes in the bottom of the bag. We bought one here. It works great and was a fantastic idea.

Chimney Starter

Another great accessory for a Dutch Oven is a chimney starter. The chimney quickly lights up the charcoal and heats the briquettes evenly. This makes baking with a Dutch oven more efficient and a lot easier to get the temperature of the briquettes where you want them.

Heat Resistant Gloves

Heat resistant gloves are also a great investment when baking with a Dutch oven. The gloves can be used to carry a hot Dutch oven or when handling a chimney starter.

Lid Lifter
