Easy Camping Desserts in the Dutch Oven

The best part of camping is the food, especially the desserts. I have compiled a list of some of my favorite camping desserts that we have done while camping or relaxing in the backyard. They are quick and easy and are sure to impress your friends and family with your Dutch Oven outdoor cooking skills.

Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Pineapple Upside Cake, made in the Dutch Oven, is one of our favorite camping desserts. It is easy to make and tastes amazing around the campfire.

Peach Cobbler

Peach Cobbler is the perfect summer camping dessert. The cobbler is made in the Dutch Oven with very simple ingredients and smells amazing as it bakes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

S’more Camp Bars

S’more Camp Bars are super easy to make and taste fantastic, especially when munching away on them around a cozy fire. They are even better the next day.

Blueberry Buckle

Made with fresh-picked blueberries, Blueberry Buckle is a sweet dessert. This is the perfect ending to any campfire meal and tastes amazing.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies

Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies are made in the Dutch Oven with a pre-packaged brownie mix and a tube of cookie dough. It is super simple to make this chocolate-lover camping dessert.

Cinnamon Pull Apart Rolls

Cinnamon Pull Apart Rolls are made with ready-made cinnamon rolls. The pull-apart rolls are perfect for sharing with family. Take a little or a lot of this camping dessert.

Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding

The perfect dessert for a cool evening of camping is Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding. It is similar to the pull-apart rolls but is more like a thick bread pudding with lots of ooey-gooey goodness and apples mixed in.

Piña Colada Cake

Another great Dutch Oven dessert is Piña Colada Cake. We made this yummy cake while beach camping. A great way to end a summer day.

Lemon Cake

Lemon Cake in the Dutch Oven will be the easiest dessert you will make on a camping trip. The recipe has only two ingredients, not including the frosting. It bakes up quickly and smells amazing.

Orange Crush Cake

Another great two-ingredient cake is Orange Crush Cake. Don’t forget the frosting.

Cherry Dump Cake

Cherry Dump Cake is a simple recipe that only calls for three ingredients. It’s perfect for any camping trip and the family will love it.

Dutch Oven

I use a 10-inch Lodge Dutch Oven, so all my recipes are geared towards that size of Dutch Oven. If you have a different size you may have to add more or less briquettes to heat to the desired temperature. Baking times will vary as well.

Do not be intimidated by baking in a Dutch Oven while camping. It is a very satisfying way to make a dessert your family will love and they will be impressed with your outdoor baking skills. Give it a try and Happy Camping!
