Camping and Exploring at O’Leno State Park, Florida
We spent a beautiful fall weekend camping at O’Leno State Park in northern Florida. This was such a peaceful park to relax in and unwind after a hectic week. O’Leno State Park O’Leno is located near High Falls in Florida along the Santa Fe River. The park is full of picturesque points of interest and wildlife. Just waiting for you to explore. I found it interesting that O’Leno State Park was one of original Florida state parks when it opened in 1940. This park’s rich history connected to Civil Conservation Corps of the 1930’s and its past location of the lost town of Leno will enchant any history buff. This…

Camping at Huguenot Memorial Park
We spent the weekend camping at Huguenot Memorial Park, a city campground in Jacksonville, Florida. This was the perfect spot to enjoy the beauty of nature, passing ships and relaxing on a white sanded beach. Campsites The campsites at Huguenot are close together, but it didn’t feel crowded to us. We had a corner spot, #43, that was located near the road to the beach. The roadway can be busy with vehicles at times, but traffic stops a 7 at night when the beach closes to vehicles. The campsites have electric hookups, which is fantastic for running your air conditioner in the camper. There are no water hook ups. We…

Relaxing at North Beach Camp Resort
We spent a few days this week relaxing at North Beach Camp Resort in Saint Augustine, Florida. It was a great way to social distance, but to also enjoy fresh air at the beach. Our plans of camping at Anastasia State Park we cancelled a few days before our planned camping trip. Finding this gem of a campground was a stroke of luck. North Beach Camp Resort is situated off the coast of Saint Augustine on a barrier island. It is ideally located near the beach, which is one the reasons we chose this location to camp. The campground is close to the historic sites of Saint Augustine. Castillo de…

Table Rock State Park, South Carolina
Table Rock State Park located in Pickens, South Carolina was one of the most beautiful parks we have ever camped in. The views throughout the park were breathtaking. This was such a great escape from the madness of the world. I thought long and hard about going on this trip with my family. I did not want to contribute to the spread of COVID-19 or expose my family. We planned our trip carefully to limit contact with others. So with trepidation last week we loaded up the camper and brought our Lysol as ventured to the mountains of South Carolina. Camping is the ultimate social distancing activity. We kept to…

Crooked River State Park, Georgia
Our last camping trip of the year was spent at Crooked River State Park in Georgia. It wasn’t ideal camping weather with all the rain and cloud overcast. I don’t think we saw the sun the whole trip, but we didn’t let it dampen our camping adventure. Crooked River State Park Crooked River State Park, Georgia is ideally located just over the Florida border outside the small town of St. Marys. It was a fairly short drive for us and was a great location to explore the coast. We had hoped to visit nearby Cumberland Island, but didn’t realize that ferry reservations were highly recommend. We missed out because of…
