Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park
Our Father’s Day weekend was spent camping at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a city park with amazing beach access to Jacksonville beaches. We all loved this campground and had a fantastic time exploring all it had to offer.
There is a lot of things to do at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park, also known as Hanna Park. It was fairly easy to find and is a great location to the beaches.
Camping
The campsites were a bit small, but offered some privacy will foliage between each site. The sites are full hook-ups, which makes things so much easier, but there is also a dump station located in the campground. Restrooms are a bit dated and could a use a good cleaning. We used our camper bathroom for the most of the trip. Each site also came with a picnic table and a fire ring.
Beach
We loved this beach. It is absolutely beautiful. My youngest son and I spent the whole day at the beach, just walking and playing in the sand.
We were looking for shark teeth, may have found one! At least it looked like one. I also found sea glass. Once I started finding the sea glass I was hooked and on the look out for more.
This a great beach for kids and dogs are welcomed as well.
Beach access from our campsite was only half a mile, so we walked to the beach. A bike would be a great option if your site is further away. There is also parking available if you need to drive.
I recommend taking a sunrise stroll on the beach. It is stunning.
Bike Trails
The bike trails at the Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park range from easy to very difficult. My husband and oldest son took their bikes out on the trails and had a great time.
Helmets are required on the bike trails so don’t forget to pack them.
Lake
There is a beautiful lake at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park. It is just a short bike ride to the lake. There also campsites near the lake as well.
Canoe and Kayak Rentals are available or bring your own.
The Splash Park is also located near the lake.
Explore
This was such a fun park to explore. There is so much to do at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park whether you plan to spend the day or decide to camp, you won’t be disappointed. The kids will be worn out by the end of day and relaxing by a crackling campfire will be heaven. So pack those flip flops and S’mores and enjoy camping at this beautiful park.
We marked another thing off our Summer Bucket List, Camping at a Beach. If you like camping near a beach also check out my post on Fort De Soto, another great campground in Florida.
We loved camping at this campground and I finally got to wear my new sleeveless tee on a camping trip. Find it here, but note it runs a bit big.
Happy Camping!

Hey, I enjoyed your review of Hanna Park campground. We are always looking for a different place to stop on our Florida trips (and I always forget to look at city campgrounds). What a fun way to spend Father’s Day! Best, Gwen
