Top Beach Camping Gear

We have camped at several beach campgrounds in Florida and have come up with a list of Top Beach Camping Gear that we currently own, or need to add to our wish list.

Our latest camping trip to North Beach Camp Resort in Saint Augustine, Florida was a perfect spot to camp and enjoy the beach. We also realized that a couple of items would have made our camping trip more enjoyable. Also that a few things we already have are definite keepers. Here is our list.

Outdoor Camping Rug

Outdoor Camping Rug

I love this camping rug that I found on Amazon. The picture does not do the beach colors justice. It is the perfect rug to brighten up your camping space but to also keep the sand out of your camper. It was easy to lay out and fold back up. The rug is so much lighter than our previous one. This rug is a keeper. You can find it here.

Beach Tent

This handy beach tent we bought last minute for our camping trip turned out to be a great investment. It saved us from an uncomfortable sunburn yet let us enjoy watching the beach waves. You can find it here.

Beach Chairs

Beach Chair

We are in need of new beach chairs after our last camping trip. The salty air and water in Florida wrecks havoc on our beach chairs. The chair above has great reviews so we are adding a couple to our wish list for our next beach camping trip. You can find them here.

Beach Bag

Another thing we need to add to our wish list is a new beach bag. My current one is showing wear after several years of use. The bag below looks like a great option. You can find it here.

Water Shoes

Water Shoes

I have these water shoes and love them. I original bought them for kayaking, but they make great beach shoes as well. Great for walking from the campground to the beach. More sturdy than flip flops if you plan on walking on the beach a lot. You can find them here.

Beach Wagon

A wagon to haul all of your gear from the campground to the beach would be helpful. We definitely need one. The one below looks like it would work fantastic with those huge all terrain wheels. You can find it here.

Portable Cooler

Igloo Cooler

The Igloo Playmate cooler is a classic. Perfect for just taking a few drinks to the beach. It won’t take up much room and easy to carry. You can find it here.

Retractable Clothesline

Retractable Clothesline

This compact retractable clothesline would be great for drying beach towels and swimwear at the campsite. No close pins needed. You can find it here.

Compact Shell Finder Bag

Compact Shell Finder Bag

We are always looking for shells while walking the beach. This compact mesh bag would be perfect for carrying the shells we find back to the campsite. You can find it here.

Collapsible Beach Buckets

Collapsible Beach Buckets

We take our beach buckets for the kids whenever we go camping, but space can be at a premium. These collapsible beach bucket would save so much room in the camper and your beach bag. You can find them here.

Portable Grill

We found out on our last camping trip that not all campsites have grills available. This portable grill would have been greatly appreciated. After a relaxing day at the beach, grilling at your campsite is a great way to end the day. Also grilled hot dogs taste better than those cooked in the microwave of your camper. You can find it here.

Florida Beach Camping

Florida has some of the best beaches in world. A great way to enjoy them is camping near them. Check out my blog posts for a few of those we have camped out, like Fort De Soto and Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park.

Make sure to make reservations well in advance. Beach camping in Florida is very popular for good reason.

I hope my list of Top Beach Camping Gear gets you ready to camp at the beach.

Happy Camping!
