Hobby Lobby Camping Finds
I was excited when I went into Hobby Lobby recently and discovered so many things for camping. If you are not familiar with Hobby Lobby, it is a giant arts and crafts store with tons of home decor to choose from. And currently everything in their “Spring” section is on sale 50% off. I was trying to contain myself and not buy everything I saw, but I did get a few things. There are still couple of items that I am going to go back and get, if they are still available, like that tablecloth. Everything seemed to be in my favorite colors of red and turquoise. It was hard…

Find Mermaids At Weeki Wachee
As a way to say “thank you” to first responders and electric utility workers for their hard work during Hurricane Irma, Florida State Parks are offering Florida First Responder Passes. Scout Summer Camp
Our busy summer has already started as we pack our oldest son off to scout summer camp. This is his third year of camp. Getting him ready should be easy by now, but there is always something last minute that needs to be done or found. The scout camp he is going to this year is located in Georgia. He has not been to this one yet and is excited to go. Camp Rainey Mountain is located in the northern part of the mountain range in Georgia. It is surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest on three sides. It looks amazing and I really hope he enjoys himself. This…

Kindle Camping Mysteries
We haven’t been camping for weeks. The end of the school year always seems to be the busiest time for us, so finding a free weekend to get away has been impossible. To get back in the camping mood I have found several mysteries on Amazon to download on my Kindle. If you don’t have a Kindle and prefer to actually hold a book in your hand, I believe most of these can be ordered from Amazon or even found at your local library. I am cheap when it comes to my Kindle downloads, so I like to get the “free” or cheap book in a cozy mystery series to…

Campfire Food
Our last campout happened to be on a Friday during lent. Catholics will understand this, but for the rest of my readers it means no meat. Our usual staple of hamburgers and hot dogs was not going to work. So we brought the makings of a pizza to make in our portable smoker. And hoped that it would turn out. The lactose intolerant kid had to have spaghetti. Here is a quick list of what we brought to construct the pizza. So easy and simple. It also helps to have a former pizza maker from a national chain doing all the work. Easy Camp Pizza Publix brand pre-made…
